This release was originally conceived as a revised and updated version of the classic, out of print book and double CD package released in 2003 to mark the Rune Grammofon label's fifth anniversary, but a further five years on, the project has become more of a sequel - it's an entirely new book, redesigned by in-house visual artist Kim Hiorthoy, featuring more content than the original, laid out using four different types of paper. In addition to interviews with Rune Kristoffersen - the man behind the label - you'll also find forewords by Rough Trade founder Geoff Travis and Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke. Of course the music itself is worth a mention, and on that front Money Will Ruin Everything 2 is exceedingly impressive, offering exclusive tracks from the too-long dormant Deathprod, Susanna & The Magical Orchestra, Nils Okland, Maja Ratkje, Arve Henriksen, Supersilent, Alog and all your other Rune Grammofon favourites. A very, very, beautiful item indeed.
